PCR-based VNTR Human DNA Typing Kit
In DNA fingerprinting, variable number tandem repeats (VNTR) are used to identify individuals. In this kit, students will type themselves at the D1S80 locus on chromosome 1. This region contains between 14 and 40 copies of a 16 base pair repeat. For 25 Individual Reactions and 6 Gels with InstaStain® Ethidium Bromide.
Kit includes: instructions, proteinase K, PCR beads, control DNA and primers, microtubes, chelating agent, agarose, DNA ladder, practice gel loading solution, gel loading dye, electrophoresis buffer and gel stain.
All you need: EdvoCycler™, electrophoresis tank, power supply, variable micropipet and tips, UV transilluminator, balance and microwave or hot plate.
